A Can Should Tell a Story
Texian Brewing had a thing for myth. Not just history, but Texas history the kind that gets a little taller every time it’s told. They came to us to help launch their Bomber series with Summer Sandia, a watermelon wheat beer dressed in frontier swagger.
We leaned in. Paired old-world illustrations with modern, clean type. Limited color. Big shelf presence. The label felt like something pulled from a dusty press room, just with better ink and fewer ghosts.
This was one of the first times I got hands-on with aluminum can design. I still remember sweating the print layers and geeking out over press tolerances like it was a NASA launch.
Summer Sandia ended up featured in Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual. I was floored. One of those early moments that reminded me this work can matter. That design—done right—can grab a cold one and tell a story while it’s at it.
